Dealing with Grief and Mourning

This year I’ve spoken to a number of individuals who have experienced a death in their family (people and pets.)  A familiar reoccurring theme I listened to was! I don’t attend a Church; I don’t have a faith; but I’ve looked to God for help. I just want to sit in a Church to be near God and find peace and restoration in my grief. You could find that the video above helps.

Here are some ideas to help you during the holiday season and beyond:

  • Socialise. Don’t hibernate. Insure feelings may tempt you to be alone, but push past that feeling and venture out, even if just for a short time.
  • Invite a friend to see a film, have a meal together or offer to help with a task.
  • Take care of your physical health wellbeing. Eat healthy food when possible.
  • Let family and friends know precisely what you’re capable of doing during this celebratory season.
  • Show gratitude to someone who you may not have thanked or praised for a while.
  • Get out to a green or blue space.
